Dr. Wang received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from Fudan University, and his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Indiana University – Bloomington. He completed his postdoctoral training as a postdoctoral fellow/Courant Instructor at the Courant Institute. Prior to joining Missouri S&T as the inaugural Havener Endowed Chair in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, Dr. Wang held tenured positions at Southern University of Science and Technology as a Chair Professor, Fudan University as a Distinguished Professor, Florida State University as a Full Professor, and Iowa State University as an Associate Professor. He also held long-term positions at the Insitute for Advanced Studies at Princeton, the Courant Institute in New York, and other fine institutions. Throughout his career, he also gained administrative experience, serving as the Chair of the Department of Mathematics at both Florida State University and the Southern University of Science and Technology
